Toronto Arrows News Release

TORONTO, ON - The Toronto Arrows are pleased to announce the signing of Australian centre / wing Fabian Goodall for the 2023 Major League Rugby season.

Goodall, 27, will arrive at the club from Australian side Eastwood, where the powerful back has been mainstay in the Shute Shield.

"I'm very excited to start with the Arrows," said Goodall. "This type of opportunity has been one of the biggest dreams of my career, and my family and I can't wait to call Toronto home next year. This will be my first time my wife and I have travelled to North America, and with two kids who are fairly young, to show them a different side of the world will be very exciting."

"From everything I've heard about the Arrows, and from my discussions with Pete and the staff, this is a first-rate organization with a firm desire to win and play attractive footy. This is an ambitious side, and I'm looking forward to playing and training in this professional environment."

The six-foot-two, 255-pound back just wrapped up his sixth season with Eastwood, where he has featured in 68 matches and scored 32 tries for the Woodies since debuting in 2017.

The product of Seven Hills, Australia also enjoyed stints with the Western Sydney Rams and Melbourne Rising in the National Rugby Championship in 2016 and 2018, respectively.

Prior to joining Eastwood, Goodall developed as a rugby league player. After coming up through the age-grade ranks with his local side Wentworthville Magpies, the duel-code athlete featured in the youth programs at both the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles and Parramatta Eels. Goodall was also capped by Fiji, the country of his father's birth, and represented the Bati twice before switching his focus to rugby union in 2016.

"Fabian is a big, athletic back that really makes things happen with his imposing style of play, and will bring a new dimension to our backline this year," said Mark Winokur, Toronto Arrows Chief Operating Officer and General Manager. "We think he will thrive in our environment and are delighted to have him on board."

The club will be making additional signing announcements in the coming weeks as 2023 season preparations continue to build.

The window to place a deposit to secure 2023 season memberships for the lowest possible price is now open. Earlybird pricing packages for the club's home matches at York Lions Stadium start at just $70 for a limited time only.
