'Topes to hit 4-million fan milestone tomorrow

August 26, 2009 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Albuquerque Isotopes News Release

With just 967 fans to go, the Albuquerque Isotopes will surpass 4-million fans in franchise history tomorrow when the 'Topes take on the Memphis Redbirds at 6:35 PM MT.

So far this season, the 'Topes have drawn 525,120 fans, increasing the franchise total to 3,999,033 since the team's inception in 2003. With less than a 1,000 fans before reaching the milestone, the 4-millionth fan should pass through the turnstiles at Isotopes Park before the game's first pitch.

The lucky guest who happens to be the 4-millionth entering The Lab will be lavished with a 'Topes prize-pack that includes a bat autographed by the 2009 Isotopes squad, a commemorative jersey, and four free airline tickets to anywhere in North America courtesy of American Airlines. The fan will also be recognized on the field during the game when the attendance becomes official.

Albuquerque currently ranks third in the Pacific Coast League in attendance, averaging 8,335 a game. The 'Topes are also on pace to shatter the team's single season attendance mark of 593,606 set last season. Through 63 games in 2008, the Isotopes had drawn 517,648, 7,000 fewer fans than at the same point this season.

The Isotopes' franchise-record 13-game homestand rolls on with a visit by the Memphis Redbirds, Triple-A affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals. On Thursday, the team will be giving away Manny Ramirez Bobbleheads to the first 3,000 fans. Tickets for any Isotopes game may be purchased at the Isotopes Park Box Office, at Ticketmaster outlets, by phone at 1-800-745-3000, or on-line at www.albuquerquebaseball.com or www.ticketmaster.com.
