Top Prospects Highlight 2012 All-NBA D-League Showcase Teams

NEW YORK, Jan. 14, 2012- Top NBA prospects Justin Dentmon (Austin Toros), Andre Emmett (Reno Bighorns), Gerald Green (Los Angeles D-Fenders), Brandon Costner (Los Angeles D-Fenders) and Marcus Lewis (Tulsa 66ers) were named to the 2012 All-NBA D-League Showcase First Team, as selected by a panel of NBA scouts following the four-day 16-game NBA D-League Showcase that took place this week in Reno, Nev.
Reno's Blake Ahearn, Texas' Booker Woodfox, Austin's Lance Thomas, Tulsa's Larry Owens and Erie's Chris Daniels comprise the 2012 All-NBA D-League Showcase Second Team, while Fort Wayne's Walker Russell, Dakota's Edwin Ubiles, Reno's Bobby Simmons, Sioux Falls' Anthony Mason, Jr. and Rio Grande Valley's Greg Smith round out the Third Team. An additional 17 players earned Honorable Mentions.
Dentmon, a 6-0, 185-pound guard averaged 26.5 points and 6.5 assists in two wins for the Toros in Reno. On the season, he is averaging 23.4 points and 5.1 assists in 13 games. A 6-5, 224-pound forward, Emmett averaged 28.5 points and 6.5 rebounds during the Bighorns' two Showcase wins.
Drafted 18th overall by the Boston Celtics in the 2005 NBA Draft, Green (6-8, 200) averaged 19.0 points and 2.0 rebounds in two Los Angeles wins in Reno. On the season, Green is averaging 13.4 points and 3.3 rebounds in 13 games for the D-Fenders. Teammate Brandon Costner finished the Showcase averaging 22.0 points and 5.0 rebounds. In 21 games this season, Costner is averaging 23.9 points and 5.8 rebounds.
Lewis (6-8, 245) averaged a double-double of 16.0 points and 11.5 rebounds as the Tulsa 66ers split the team's games in Reno. For the season, Lewis is averaging 15.7 points and 13.7 rebounds in 15 games for Tulsa.
