Tony Locke to start Sunday for AFL's Los Angeles Avengers

Albany, N.Y., Feb. 19, 2005 – Tony Locke, who had a record-breaking season last year with the Albany Conquest, will start at wide receiver/defensive back for the Arena Football League's Los Angeles Avengers on Sunday when they face defending ArenaBowl Champion San Jose SaberCats at 6 p.m. (ET) at STAPLES Center in Los Angeles.

Locke, who had signed as a practice squad member of the Los Angeles Avengers on Jan. 28, is being activated for tomorrow's game.

Locke, an offensive specialist with the Conquest in 2004, established a team single-season record last year scoring 43 touchdowns (39 receiving, three kickoff returns, one rushing). Locke played in four games for the Columbus Destroyers (AFL) last year before joining the Conquest. He also played WR/DB for the former Cincinnati Swarm of af2 in 2003 catching 22 passes for 298 yards with five touchdowns, while recording ten tackles, two interceptions and one forced fumble.

The Albany Conquest, a proud member of the Arena Football family, are entering their fourth season competing in arenafootball2 which runs from early April through July with playoffs being held in August. The Conquest play their home opener against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers on Apr. 15 at 7:30 p.m. at Pepsi Arena.
