Tomasek Attends Czech Junior Evaluation Camp

A Bulls forward is getting a long look from hockey brass in the Czech Republic. David Tomasek is attending the Czech Republic's World Junior U20 Evaluation Camp in Montreal next week. The Czech National Team is holding it's camp alongside the Canadian and Russian Junior Camps as the teams will match up in exhibition play to get a feel for how players perform in a competitive environment.
"It's exciting for me," said Tomasek on Wednesday. "The Czech program is very well established and has produced some talented players. I've been playing in North America since I was 14 years old while some of these other guys have been in the Czech system for several years, so I am getting re-accustomed to the style of play and approach to the game."
Tomasek, who had 13 goals and 14 assists in 58 games as a 17 year-old rookie with the Bulls last season is hoping to make a strong impression at camp. "There are some very good players here but I feel like my OHL experience has been a benefit to my skills. I want to have a good camp and then continue my progress into next season with the Bulls. I really want to have an impact offensively this year."
Tomasek is skating at camp alongside Bulls CHL Import Draft selection David Pastrnak, who signed an entry-level contract with the Boston Bruins since being taken 25th overall last month at the NHL Draft. "He's got great hands, is really quick and is a smart player. He knows his way around the ice and makes things happen," Tomasek said of his teammate.
The Czech Junior squad travels to Montreal for camp from August 3rd to 8th.
