Johnstown Tomahawks News Release
The Johnstown Tomahawks topped the Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks Thursday night with a 3-2 win in Danbury.
The Tomahawks penalty kill unit was put to work early but proved to be successful by killing off two penalties in the first six minutes of the game. However, Danbury's Jazz Krivtsov strikes first on the power play with 3:47 to go in the 1st period. Jacob Badal responded for the Tomahawks tying it up 1:03 later with his eighth goal of the season.
After a back and forth, physical 2nd period, neither team found the go-ahead goal, setting up for an exciting 3rd period.
Jake Black gets the go-ahead goal for the Tomahawks midway through the 3rd to make it 2-1 in favor of the Tomahawks. Badal added on to the Tomahawks lead late in the 3rd period with his second goal of the game. Mike Salandra scored for Danbury with an extra-attacker to make it a one-goal game again with less than two minutes to go in regulation. The Tomahawks would hang on to win the game by a final of 3-2 in regulation on Thursday night.
The two teams face off again tomorrow, Friday December 3 at 3 PM for a rare weekday afternoon game in Danbury. Follow along on social media for game updates and watch live on HockeyTV.
