
Tomahawks Fall to Warriors 5-3

JOHNSTOWN, PA -The Johnstown Tomahawks entered Friday night's game against the Michigan Warriors with a five point advantage in the standings. After all was said and done, the Warriors closed that gap with a 5-3 win at the Cambria County War Memorial.
Alex Alger got the Tomahawks on the board first, as his shot from between the circles found its way past goaltender Ryan Wischow 9:57 into the first period. Alger extended his point streak to 7 games with the unassisted goal.
The Warriors tied the game halfway through the second period, as Tyler Groat's shot from the left circle made it past goaltender Jake Gwillim and into the right side of the net at 9:22.
Michigan took its first lead of the game, as Ryan Burr scored just over two minutes later. Shane Cuckovich added the assist on the goal.
Steve Quagliata tied the game later in the period, taking the rebound from an Alger shot in front of the net and scoring on a quick shot at 14:59. Zac Robbins also added an assist on the goal, extending his point streak to eight games.
Groat regained the lead with his second goal of the game at 19:09 of the second period. Josh Shellman and Collin Horton each added assists on the power-play goal.
Mitch Wedding extended the lead for the Warriors with a power-play goal of his own, 5:04 into the third period.
Casey Linkenheld pulled the Tomahawks within one, scoring in his first game back from injury at 6:44.
Cody Kuster set the final score with a goal at 15:26. Dalton Skelly and Cam Jorgensen each added assists on the goal.
