
Second Place on the Line, as the Eagles Host the Ice Miners for 2+

Fresh off a weekend split at Janesville, the Soo Eagles look to grab a firm grip on second place in the North Division, as they host the third-place Keystone Ice Miners this weekend at Pullar Stadium, Friday at 8:00 p.m., and Saturday at 7:00 p.m.

Also this weekend, the resumption of the game at Keystone, on February 7, where the Eagles were leading 2-1 in the third period, before a pane of glass shattered, forcing the game to be to be postponed. That game is set to resume Friday night at 7:30 p.m.
This weekend is Military Weekend at Pullar Stadium, and the Soo Eagles will be wearing specialized jersey's to honor the men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces.
If you are at the games this weekend, bidding forms will be in the front lobby of the Pullar, with the players name and number on it. All bidding will start at $100.00. Bidding will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Friday night and end at 9:00 p.m. on Saturday.

This weekend is also Parent's Weekend, where the Soo Eagles will be honoring the parents and billet parents of the Eagles' players.
The Eagles are led in scoring by Trevor Cope, who has 20 goals and 28 assists this season. Sandis Zolmanis has 13 goals 34 assists, while Mitch Vanderberg is (17-21- 38).
The Ice Miners are led in scoring by Matt Jones, who has 15 goals and 18 assists this season. Taylor Fernandez has 9 goals and 23 assists, while Austin Romzek is (13-11- 24).
Chad Catt is 6-1-0-1 for the Soo Eagles, with a goals against average 2.21 and a save percentage of .923. Jack Berry is 12-10-0-1, with a goals against average of 3.02 and a save percentage of .904.
Alex Blankenberg is 14-13-0-3 for the Keystone Ice Miners, with a goals against average of 2.35 and a save percentage of .925. Nick Kossoff is 12-8-0-2, with a goals against average of 2.18 and a save percentage of .933.
The Eagles and Ice Miners have met five times this season, with Keystone holding a 3-2 series lead. These teams met at Pullar Stadium on Sep 26-27, with the visiting team collecting four points.
Looking around the North Division, the Janesville Jets, who had their 16-game win streak snapped by the Soo Eagles last weekend, have already clinched first place, and home-ice advantage throughout the Division Playoffs. The Eagles maintain their hold on second place in the North, by one point over the Keystone Ice Miners. Johnstown remains in fourth place, three points behind the third place Ice Miners, and five points ahead of Michigan. Springfield is in last place and seven points out of a playoff spot.
