
Toledo Ice added to ABA's 2005 lineup

Indianapolis, IN. Joe Newman, ABA Co-Founder, today announced that the professional basketball league has approved the application of One Team One Goal LLC for an expansion team in Toledo, Ohio starting with the 2005 season. According to Newman, "We've been working with this group for quite sometime as they developed their operational and marketing plans. We're very impressed with their knowledge of business and their passion for basketball. We think we have a great ownership group and feel that Toledo should an outstanding ABA city - and this is our 10th 2005 team too."
Nathanial Hopkins, a petroleum-industry executive, will act as CEO and Director of Basketball Operations. His three partners and he already begun operations including the team name - The Toledo Ice. Hopkins added, "Our goal is to provide family oriented sports entertainment at very affordable prices - and of course, to bring winning basketball to Toledo. We've located our venue, are putting together our Dance Team, the Ice Angels, creating "Snowy," our mascot and many other things - and we're still a year out. But we're excited."
