Orlando Titans News Release
New York, NY - The New York Titans, the Big Apple's first ever professional lacrosse franchise, will play the Minnesota Swarm on Friday, February 8 at 8pm on the road at the Xcel Energy Center. On Sunday, February 10, the Titans will return home to play their second home game at the Garden against the Buffalo Bandits at 12:30pm.
The Titans enter their game against the Swarm with a 1-3 record, but still sit atop the NLL rankings in power play goals, with 24. The Swarm are ranked the first in the league going into the game on Friday, with a 4-0 record.
"[The Swarm] are playing with a ton of confidence right now and have good speed on offense and defense," said Titans head coach Adam Mueller. "On our side, we are looking to put a complete game together on both sides of the floor."
Going into Friday's game, Titans captain Casey Powell is 10th in the NLL in points with 24 off of 10 goals and 14 assists. Titans forward Ryan Boyle is ninth in the league in assists with 16.
On Sunday, February 10 the Titans return to the Garden for their second home game of the season against the Buffalo Bandits at 12:30pm. The Titans played the Bandits on January 19 in Buffalo and lost in the final minutes 17-13.
"We played Buffalo a few weeks back and it was a battle throughout, down by one with five minutes left, we just could not overcome a very experienced team," Mueller said. "Defensively we have played well in spurts and on offense the talent is there, we just need to play with confidence and take advantage of our athletes."
The Titans next home game at Madison Square Garden takes place on Sunday, February 10 at 12:30pm against the Buffalo Bandits.
