Titans sign Choiniere

TRENTON, NJ (June 25, 2004) - The Trenton Titans announced today that they have agreed to terms with right wing Philippe Choiniere for the 2004-05 season.

Choiniere, 24, will make his debut in the ECHL after spending last season with the Indianapolis Ice of the Central Hockey League, where he chipped in 5 goals and 5 assists in 57 games.

"Philippe is going come in, play hard and fill a viable role for this team," said Mike Haviland, Head Coach and Director of Player Operations. "He's a young player with lots of experience. We're excited to add him as another piece of the puzzle."

Choiniere's most successful season came with the Hull Olympiques in 2000-01 (QMJHL), notching 55 points (25g, 30a) over 71 games. The Durham, Quebec also appeared in 45 games for the Canadian National Team in 1999-00. A second-year pro, Choiniere had two stints at the collegiate level: University of Vermont (1997-99) and University of Calgary (2001-03).
