
Titans Kick off 2014 Regular Season Tonight

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA: The quest for a United Bowl Championship begins tonight for the Cedar Rapid Titans. The Titans take on the Texas Revolution at 7:05pm at the Allen Event Center in Allen, TX.
The Titans are coming a 22-11 pre-season win against the Bemidji Axemen this past Saturday in Cedar Rapids. Spencer Ohm will make his first career start for the Titans at QB. Ohm spent the 2013 season with the Green Bay Blizzard appearing in 11 games. He completed 117 of 233 passes throwing for 28 touchdowns. In addition to his passing abilities, he also showed his athletic ability. Ohm rushed 208 yards with 9 touchdowns. Titans RB La'Ron Council will also return to action tonight after returning from a season-ending MCL injury he sustained in Week 12 of the 2013 regular season.
The Titans defense is anchored by DL Xzavie Jackson. Jackson, entering his third season with the Titans and sixth season overall in the IFL, received all IFL honors in 2013, his 3rd appearance on an all-league team (1st-Team 2011, 2nd-Team 2012). Jackson finished the season appearing in all 14 regular season games finishing the season with 55 tackles, 14 sacks, one interception, one forced fumble, and eight passes broken up. His 14 sacks led the IFL.
The Texas Revolution finished the 2013 season with a 5-9 record. Chris Williams enters his first season as head coach. Joshua Floyd will start at quarterback for the Rev's.
The Titans will be apart of history tonight as Jen Welter, running back for the Revolution, becomes the first female player to play a non-kicking position for a professional football league. Welter is expected to play in tonight's game with NBC's Today Show and several other national media outlets in attendance.
Tonight's game will be streamed online at WMT Radio, 96.5 KISS Country, 100.7 the FOX, and the Titans website. The game will also be available through AmericaOne.com.
Following tonight's game the Titans will have a bye week before returning to Mediacom Field Saturday, March 8th to take on the Green Bay Blizzard. Kickoff is set for 7:05pm. Tickets are available now starting at just $8.
