Titans Host Green Bay Saturday

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA: The Titans (0-1) take on conference rival, the Green Bay Blizzard (0-1) Saturday night at Mediacom Field inside the US Cellular Center. Kickoff is slated for 7:05pm. This will be the first of four matchups between these two teams during the 2014 season.

Both teams come into the game after a bye week. The Titans lost to the Texas Revolution 47-38 February 21st in Allen. In that game turnovers were the difference maker for the Revolution as Cedar Rapids turned the ball over 5 times. The Titans defense held the Rev's to negative rushing yardage and just 13 second half points. LB Courtney Daniel, DL Ben Pister, and DL Xzavie Jackson had sacks for the Titans.

For the Titans DB Ricky Johnson will make his first start of the 2014 season. Johnson returns to the Titans after spending training camp with the Tampa Bay Storm of the Arena Football League. In 2013 Johnson finished the season with 71 tackles and 3 interceptions earning him 2nd team all-IFL honors.

The Blizzard lost their regular season opener to Bemidji 40-36 on February 22nd in Bemidji, MN. In that game rookie quarterback Taylor Perkins completed a team-record 29 passes for 241 yards and four touchdowns. Blizzard wide receiver Markieth Summers also a rookie, caught 11 passes for 114 yards, accounting for 47 percent of the team's entire offensive yards.

Saturday's game will be streamed online at WMT Radio, 96.5 KISS Country, 100.7 the FOX, and the Titans website. The game will also be available through Americaone.com.

Tickets for Saturday's game are still available starting at just $8. Their will also be food & beverage specials at the concession stands including $2 sodas, $2 popcorns, and $2 beers. The game is sponsored by Midwest Athletic Club.
