ORLANDO, Fla. (May 1) -- Casey Powell scored five goals and added three assists to lead the Orlando Titans to a 12-11 come-from-behind win over the Boston Blazers in the first round of the National Lacrosse League Playoffs.

The win lifted the Titans into the East Conference finals, where they will play the Toronto Rock at 7:35 p.m. at Amway Arena. Toronto advanced with a 13-11 win over Buffalo.

It was not an easy win for the Titans. Behind a physical Boston attack, the Blazers took momentum into the locker room by grabbing a 7-4 lead.

"We've been behind several times before at halftime and there wasn't any panic in our locker room," Powell said. "I felt we were getting some good looks and our shots weren't going in."

Orlando went on the attack in third quarter. Powell scored twice and Bill Greer and John Orsen each added goals to tie the game at 8-8, but Daryl Veltman answered at the 1:02 mark of the third to make it 9-8.

But Powell would once again take control, scoring two sensational goals. At the 12:17 mark of the period, he dove from behind the net and put it left hand corner of the goal. Two minutes later, he gave Orlando its first lead since early in the game, hitting a behind-the-back bounce shot from 30 feet to make it 10-9. Jarrett Park would then give the Titans an 11-9 lead on a transition break-away goal at the 9:10 mark of the period.

Boston answered with two quick goals of their own, including a Gary Bining shot off a rebound to tie the game at 11-11 with 6:17 remaining.

Jordan Hall would then get the game-winning, beating Anthony Cosmo to high side with 4:02 remaining. From there, the Titans' defense withstood a furious rally to hold on for the victory.

Veltman had three goals and three assists for the Blazers, while Dan Dawson had a goal and seven assists. Eight different Titans had goals.
