Timbers close out month of June on the road against Colorado Rapids

PORTLAND, Ore. - The Portland Timbers close out their June schedule on Saturday as they visit the Colorado Rapids at Dick's Sporting Goods Park at 6 p.m. (Pacific). Saturday's match is the first of three matches in eight days for Portland.

The Timbers-Rapids matchup will be broadcast live on KPDX, the Portland Timbers Television Network in the Oregon markets of Bend (NTVZ/Central Oregon's CW), Eugene (KEVU/MyNetworkTV) and Medford (KFBI-TV/My48) and in Spanish on Estrella TV. A live radio broadcast will be available on 750 AM The Game and in Spanish on La Pantera 940 AM.

Over their last six matches, the Timbers' defense has allowed just four goals and has recorded two clean sheets, helping the club to a 2-1-3 record in that span. The Timbers (4-6-4, 16pts) hit the road for a second time in three games when they take on the Rapids (6-8-1, 19pts) on Saturday.

Portland, coming off a 2-1 victory over Cascadia-rival Seattle Sounders FC at JELD-WEN Field on June 24, faces a Colorado side looking to rebound from a 2-1 loss to the San Jose Earthquakes on June 20.

The Timbers embark on the first of two road trips this season to face the Rapids, as the two sides open a three-game, regular-season series. In 2011, Colorado won both matchups against Portland, including a 3-1 win in the season-opener at Dick's Sporting Goods Park on March 19. A goal in second-half stoppage time lifted the Rapids to a 1-0 win at JELD-WEN Field on June 11, 2011.

Following Saturday's match, the Timbers return home to play host to San Jose on Tuesday, July 3, and will then travel to take on Real Salt Lake on Saturday, July 7.

TIMBERS GAME NOTES vs. RAPIDS
