Portland Timbers News Release
PORTLAND, Ore. - The Portland Timbers travel to the Lone Star State for the first time this season as they take on 2010 Western Conference champion, FC Dallas, at Pizza Hut Park on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. (PT). Portland and Dallas conclude their regular-season series.
Saturday's match will be telecast live on KPTV FOX 12 and in Spanish on estrellaTV, with live local radio broadcasts on 750 AM The Game and La Pantera 940 AM.
The Timbers (5-6-3, 18pts) played Eastern Conference-leader New York Red Bulls to a 3-3 draw over the weekend to undo three straight losses. Looking for their first win away from JELD-WEN Field, the Timbers have recorded draws in two of their last four road games. The travel to Dallas marks the team's first road trip away from the West Coast since its venture to New England on April 2.
The Timbers and FC Dallas first met April 17 at JELD-WEN Field, with Portland coming out on top 3-2. The Timbers received goals from three different players, including former Dallas striker Kenny Cooper. In the final seven minutes of the match, FC Dallas tallied twice on goals by Brek Shea and David Ferreira to pull within a goal.
Winners of three of their last five games, FC Dallas (8-4-4, 26pts) enters the week ranked second in the Western Conference behind the LA Galaxy. A game-winning goal by Jackson Goncalves and two assists from Andrew Jacobson led FC Dallas to a 2-1 road win over Chivas USA in their last match June 19. Shea, who logged a goal and an assist against the Timbers in April, paces the team in scoring with six goals and three assists. FC Dallas ranked No. 2 on MLSsoccer.com's Power Rankings for Week 14.

Timbers Reserves top San Jose Reserves 2-1 at JELD-WEN Field
A second-half goal by forward Eddie Johnson helped the Portland Timbers Reserves to a 2-1 win over the San Jose Earthquakes Reserves in an MLS Reserve League match at JELD-WEN Field this afternoon.
After a scoreless first half, Johnson's strike broke the deadlock in the 64th minute off an assist from midfielder Sal Zizzo. San Jose leveled the score four minutes later on a 25-yard shot by defender Chris Leitch, but it was Earthquakes defender Brandon McDonald's own goal midway through the second half that lifted the Timbers to the 2-1 win.
Johnson scored his third goal in the last two Reserve League matches, while Zizzo logged his first assist to lead the Timbers Reserves to their second win of the MLS Reserve League campaign.
