
Timbers to visit Doernbecher Children's Hospital Tuesday

WHAT: Josh Wicks, Tom Poltl, Andrew Gregor, Kiki Lara, Neil Dombrowski and Garrett Marcum from the first-place Portland Timbers will visit with children and families at Doernbecher Children's Hospital and present over 200 stuffed animals to patients at the hospital donated by fans from the team's recent Teddy Bear Toss event held at PGE Park.
WHEN: Tues., July 24 from 12:30 - 1:30 p.m.
WHERE: Doernbecher Children's Hospital 3181 Sam Jackson Park Rd.; Portland, OR, 97239
DETAILS: Started in 2006, the Timbers Teddy Bear Toss has collected almost 500 stuffed animals for the children at Doernbecher Children's Hospital. With the Teddy Bear Toss, fans are encouraged to donate small stuffed animals by throwing them on to the field after the Timbers score their first goal in a designated game. This year, over 200 stuffed animals stormed the pitch on July 15 when the Timbers took a 1-0 lead over the California Victory with a goal by Cameron Knowles at PGE Park. The Timbers would go onto win the match 4-1.
