Grand Rapids Hoops News Release

Grand Rapids, MI - The Continental Basketball Association's Grand Rapids HOOPS announced today that Tim Kisner signed a one-year deal for the 2002-2003 season.

Kisner (6-2, 195) first made an impression during the team's off season free agent tryout on September 18 and 19 where his outside shooting touch and leadership abilities caught the attention of the HOOPS' coaching staff. He was recently asked to return for the HOOPS' veteran camp that begins on November 1 and becomes the first player signed by the team and its' newly appointed head coach, Rod Baker.

Kisner was drafted in November of 2002 by the Fayetteville Patriots of the National Basketball Developmental League (NBDL), but was released during the team's final cuts.

He was a four-year starter and a key contributor in the resurrection of the men's basketball program at Central Michigan University (CMU) from 1997-2000. Kisner is known as a clutch player with a history of game-winning baskets. Also, he became the first player in CMU history to compile 1,000 points and 400 assists in his career.

Kisner's playing career began at nearby Hopkins High School where he was an all-state performer in basketball and football. He led the Vikings with 23 points, 6.5 rebounds, and eight assists as a senior, while leading the squad to the state semifinals.

The HOOPS begin their 14th season in the CBA as their home schedule tips-off on Wednesday, November 20th at the DeltaPlex. For season or group ticket plans please call Rebecca at (616) 559-7939.
