Hoops to Hold Postseason Celebration

March 25, 2003 - Continental Basketball Association 2 (CBA 2)
Grand Rapids Hoops News Release

The 2003 Continental Basketball Association postseason runners-up Grand Rapids Hoops will hold a post-season celebration with the city of Grand Rapids at Z's Bar and Restaurant on Wednesday evening from 6:30-8:30 p.m. The Hoops are making their return from the West Coast following their heartbreaking 117-107 defeat in the CBA championship game at the hands of the Yakima Sun Kings.

All local media and fans are invited to spend the evening with the Hoops players and coaching staff as they celebrate an exciting 2002-03 season and prepare for another run at the championship in the 2003-04 campaign. The Hoops 14th season in Grand Rapids saw the team win three of their final four games to qualify for the CBA post-season in one of the closest playoff races in league history. The Hoops were then able to shock the Rockford Lightning, who won the regular season conference title, three games-to-one to earn the American Conference title and their second trip to the CBA Finals.

All attendees will be eligible for various giveaways and souvenirs, while also having the opportunity to get a head-start on getting in on the CBA action in 2003-04. There also will be complimentary appetizers and a cash bar available to everyone that stops in to recognize the effort of this year's Grand Rapids Hoops squad.
