Tim Cheatwood Named Playmaker of the Game

CLEVELAND - The Cleveland Gladiators are pleased to announce that Tim Cheatwood has been named the NIFTY PLAYMAKER OF THE GAME by the Arena Football League office this afternoon. The Gladiators defeated the Utah Blaze 75-39 in Week 10.

Cheatwood set an AFL record with three fumble recoveries against the Blaze, one of which he returned 11 yards for a touchdown. The Cleveland native also registered two tackles, one sack, and one forced fumble. On the season, Cheatwood has 14 total tackles, including two for a loss.

The Cleveland native and Benedictine High School graduate was a four year letter winner at Ohio State from 1998-2001. Cheatwood's professional career began in 2002. He has spent time with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League and the Houston Texans of the NFL before joining the Gladiators in 2010.
