The "Locker Room" Store and Lake Monsters Ticket Office Open For The Summer on June 5th

The "Locker Room" Store and Vermont Lake Monsters Ticket Office will open for the summer this Monday, June 5th at 10:00 a.m. and will be open everyday (excluding July 4th) until the end of the season.

The store and ticket office hours on non-home game days are 10:00 am-6:00 pm Monday-Friday, 10:00 am-4:00 pm Saturdays and 12:00 pm-4:00 pm Sundays.

The store and ticket office hours on home game days are 10:00 am-4:30 pm Monday-Saturday and 10:00 am-2:30 pm on Sundays.

Tickets and merchandise can also be purchased 24 hours a day on the team website (www.vermontlakemonsters.com). Merchandise can be ordered by phone (802-655-5939) and tickets by phone (802-655-6611) during store and ticket office hours.

Darrell Rasner '02 Joins The New York Yankees

Former Vermont pitcher Darrell Rasner '02 was promoted from Triple-A Columbus by the New York Yankees on May 31st. Rasner, who was 0-1 with a 3.68 ERA in 5 games for the Washington Nationals in 2005, was claimed off waivers by the Yankees over the winter.

The 25-year old right-hander was promoted to the Yankees after being the season 4-0 with a 2.56 ERA in 9 games for Columbus. Rasner had walked 11 and struckout 42 in 52.2 innings for the Clippers.

Rasner is now the 12th former Vermont player to be on a Major League roster in 2006 and is one of 43 former Vermont players all-time to play in the Major Leagues.

Triple-A New Orleans Zephyrs

1B Larry Broadway is 12-for-18 (.667) with 2 homers, 10 RBI and 6 runs scored over his last 5 games to raise his average to .344 from .310...he was just 3-for-24 (.125) in his previous 6 games ... the 25-year-old also is 3rd in the Pacific Coast League with an organization-best 40 RBI and is tied for 10th with a .548 slugging percentage ... RHP Jason Bergmann has allowed just one run in 11.0 innings of work (6 games) since being optioned to New Orleans from the big league club May 14 ... in 12 games overall, he is 4-0 with one save and a 1.61 ERA ... RHP Chris Schroder has posted an 0.68 ERA (1 ER/13.1 IP) in 7 appearances since being transferred from Double-A Harrisburg May 23...the 19th rounder from 2001 has 19 strikeouts in 13.1 Triple-A innings, an average of 12.8 K's per 9 innings.

1B/DH Josh Whitesell has an organization-best 8 home runs, which places him tied for 4th in the Eastern League...the 4th-year pro, who was drafted by the Expos in the 6th round in 2003, has 4 multi-hit efforts in his last 7 games...he is batting .375 (9-for-24) in those 7 contests to raise his average to .256 from .235 ... C Salomon Manriquez has hit safely in 5 games in a row, batting .500 (10-for-20) to raise his average to a team-best .308 from .268...he had been just 3-for-27 (.111) in his previous 8 games...the 23-year-old is batting .270 (17-for-63) in 16 games in May after hitting at a .352 clip (19-for-54) in 16 April contests.

Single-A Potomac Nationals

2B Trey Webb has hit safely in 6 straight games, batting .333 (9-for-27) with 3 doubles, a homer, 5 RBI, 5 runs scored and 2 steals to raise his average to .304 from .298...he ranks 8th in the Carolina League in hitting ... RHP Brett Campbell had gone 2-0 with 2 saves and 7.0 straight shutout innings over 4 appearances May 17-26 before allowing a run on 3 hits in 0.2 inning Sunday at Salem (Astros)...the Atlanta native is 3-1 with 8 saves and a 1.66 ERA in 18 games overall, and has 26 strikeouts to just 2 walks in his 21.2 innings of work ... LHP Thomas Wilson has allowed only 4 earned runs in his last 18.2 innings for a 1.93 ERA in that span, with all 4 runs coming in 0.2 inning May 20 vs. Salem...he has tossed 6.0 consecutive scoreless inning since.

Single-A Savannah and Gnats

OF Dee Brown has knocked in 8 runs in his last 7 games, and now ranks 2nd in the organization with 27 RBI...Washington's 10th-round pick from last year's draft has hit .385 (10-for-26) with 7 runs scored in those 8 games, raising his average to .267 from .249 ... OF Edgardo Baez has hit safely in each of his first 11 games with Savannah since being transferred from Potomac May 20, batting .487 (19-for-39) with 5 doubles and 7 RBI in those games ... LHP Gene Yost extended his scoreless innings streak to 18.0 after tossing 5.0 shutout innings Friday at Rome (Braves)...the 24-year-old made 10 appearances out of the bullpen to begin the year before switching to the starting rotation...he is 2-0 in his 2 starts, having allowed just 5 hits in his 11.0 innings of work...Yost is 3-0 with a 1.40 ERA in 12 games overall ... RHP Craig Stammen leads the organization with 48 strikeouts after fanning 18 over his last 3 starts (16.0 innings)...Washington's 12th-round selection from a year ago tossed 5.0 scoreless innings Monday vs. Charleston to earn his 2nd win of 2006...he is 2-7 with a 3.88 ERA in 11 starts for the Sand Gnats.
