LAKELAND-The Lakeland ThunderBolts host the Montgomery Maulers Saturday, April 8th at 7pm at the Lakeland Center. The ThunderBolts are back home after a 60-12 victory over the Greensboro Revolution last weekend. Lakeland's win over Greensboro brought their record to 3-0. Saturday's game will be the only meeting between the ThunderBolts and the Maulers unless they meet again in the playoffs.

About the Maulers: The Montgomery Maulers, who were last years East Division Champs, were back in the swing of things coming off of a 49-26 victory over the Tennessee Riversharks. The win over the Riversharks brought their record to 1-1. The Maulers got off to a slow start this year when they lost their home opener to the Fayetteville Guards 44-7. Montgomery wasted no time last Saturday, scoring their first touchdown with 10:54 on the clock. The coaching staff made the necessary changes to ensure there was not a repeat of the first game. With QB JR Richardson completing 12-of-17 passes for 163 yards, 1 interception and 4 touchdowns. JR Richardson also rushed the ball 4 times for a gain of 20 yards. WR Machion Sanders had 5 grabs for 107 yards and 1 touchdown. Defense of the Maulers had a total of 5 sacks resulting in a loss of 35 yards. LB Jonathon Harrell lead the defense with 5 solo tackles and 9 assisted tackles. The Maulers will be looking to give the ThunderBolts their first loss of the season.

About the ThunderBolts: The ThunderBolts improve their record to 3-0 with their first road win over the Revolution 60-12. The win moved the ThunderBolts into first place in the Southern Division, Atlantic Conference. Lakeland, who has shut out their opponents in the 2nd half of the last two games, switched things up a bit this game. They shut Greensboro in the 1st half, going into half time with a 26-0 lead. QB Jason Johnson completed 18-of-26 passes for 166 yards, 1 interception and 4 touchdowns. Jason Johnson also rushed the ball 15 times for 58 yards and scoring a touchdown. RB Perry Tisdale rushed the ball 15 times for 54 yards and 3 touchdowns. WR Don Robinson caught 9 passes for 67 yards and 4 touchdowns. On defense OL/DL Robert Branch had 5 solo tackles, 3 of those were for a total loss of 13 yards. LB Brenden Givan had 3 solo tackles, 2 of which were for a total loss of 5 yards. Brendan Givan also had the only sack of the game which resulted in a loss of 2 yards. In the last three games the ThunderBolts defense has only allowed 69 points to be scored. With a win over the Maulers, the ThunderBolts would improve their record to 4-0.

The ThunderBolts are at home again April 29 vs. Fayetteville Guard. Kick off is at 7pm at the Lakeland Center.
