LAKELAND, Fla. The Lakeland ThunderBolts have added new partners to the ownership group of the National Indoor Football League team, the original investors of the team announced today.

The new group will, under the name of Field of Dreams Football, join principal owners DCD Football, LLC, and Sunshine State Sports Management, LP, who directed the ThunderBolts operation during the 2005 NIFL season.

The ThunderBolts were not only successful on the field with six wins and a first-round game in the NIFL playoffs, but were triumphant at the gate where they attracted an average of nearly 2,500 fans in seven contests at the Lakeland Center.

Field of Dreams Football is made up of Andrew Moore, Robert Draper and Tony Dodds, Esq. All are Lakeland residents and are excited about the future of the Lakeland ThunderBolts.

This is a great opportunity to involve more local ownership with the franchise, ‚¬Â said an exuberant Del Martin, who also serves as the team's president & general manager. ‚¬Å“This is an outstanding group of Lakeland businessmen who see nothing but positive things for the ThunderBolts. ‚¬Â

Field of Dreams Football, LLC, will own a major portion of the team. Terms of the agreement with the additional owners was not announced.

The idea for the ThunderBolts was hatched in 2004 and the franchise joined the NIFL in late 2004 so the team could play its inaugural season in from March to July.

The team not only had success on the field, but in the community where they were involved in many charitable events as well as making appearances throughout season. The ThunderBolts will be involved in local youth football programs, including Pop Warner, etc.

The Lakeland franchise has been caught up in ‚¬Ëœgrass roots' efforts to promote and market the team. The ‚¬ËœBolts will continue their endeavors in the community in the off season prior to the 2006 season, which will start in March.
