Halifax Thunderbirds News Release
HALIFAX, NS - The Halifax Thunderbirds today announced that the team has signed defender Brett Beetow to a two-year contract extension.
Beetow, 23, signed to the Thunderbirds' practice squad in 2023 after being selected by the Georgia Swarm with the 58th overall pick in the 2022 NLL Draft.
"Brett was a late addition to our team last year. He immediately stepped in and played really well in the limited time he was with us," Thunderbirds Head Coach Mike Accursi said. "He is extremely hard working and eager to learn and improve his game every practice and every game."
The St. Bonaventure graduate made it into the lineup for the Thunderbirds for three games down the home stretch of the season, as well as the team's East Division Semi-Final matchup against the Toronto Rock.
"I'm super excited to be back with the Thunderbirds for two more years," Beetow said. "Halifax is where I want to be. You can't beat playing in front of the best fans in the league."
Beetow is back in the WLA, where he's playing his second season for the Coquitlam Adanacs before coming back East to participate in his first training camp as a member of the Thunderbirds.
