SPLITS - Wichita began its season-long five-game road trip by splitting in St. Charles over the weekend. After losing two in a row, the Thunder broke that trend with a 5-1 convincing victory Saturday night. Wichita has won four-of-its last six games and moved one point ahead of Arizona for eighth place with a pair of games this weekend against the Sundogs.

LEADERBOARD - Andrew Martens recorded his fourth goal of the season Saturday night, which puts him two points ahead in first place for the defensive scoring race with 19 points (4g, 15a). All-time, Martens registered his 35th goal of his Thunder career, which is good for third place all-time in that category. He is just five points shy of moving into third place all-time for points by a Thunder defenseman, which is currently held by Cam Plante with 145.

MILESTONES - Jon Booras tallied his eighth goal of the season Saturday night moving him closer to 500 points all-time, needing nine more to accomplish that feat (195g, 296a). The Billings, Montana native is one game away from playing in his 500th game as a pro, which will happen on Friday night.

SPECIAL TEAMS - Wichita had a brief dry spell on the man-advantage, but was able to record a goal in the third period Saturday. The Thunder power play had gone three-straight games without a tally and was 0-for-13 before Jon Booras buried a one-timer past Robby Moss of the Chill. Overall, Wichita is number two going 24-for-115 and operating at 20.9%. The Thunder road power play continues to be a strength sitting in third, going 11-for-50, operating at 22%.

THREE-POINT STANCE - Ian Lowe had two goals and an assist over the weekend, which was his first multi-goal game of the year and also his first three-point night this season. Last year, he had three points three times and hit four points in a game once.

SHOTS A-PLENTY - Wichita has unloaded its fair share of pucks on net over the last seven games, firing 30 or more shots on net in five of those contests. The Thunder defense has clamped down and is only allowing 29.58 shots per game, ranking second overall in the league.

SEASON OF GIVING - Matt Robinson tallied his first assist of the season on Andrew Martens' goal that helped increase the Thunder lead to 2-0 Saturday and finished with a playmaker (3a) on the night. With five more goals, Robinson will become just the fifth player in team history to record 100 goals in a Thunder uniform. He is four points shy of Sean O'Reilly, who has 169, for ninth place all-time in points scored while wearing Thunder blue.

THUNDERBOLTS... Jon Booras is tied in 10th with 25 points and is tied for eighth in assists (17)...Jesse Dudas is tied in second with 17 points (4g, 13a) while Mike Wilson is tied in 10th with 11 points (3g, 8a)...Nick McParland is tied in 12th in rookie scoring with 10 points (3g, 7a)...Jon Madden scored his first goal of the season over the weekend...Taylor Nelson is tied for the league-lead with two shootout wins...Wichita is averaging 14.29 PIM per game, which is the lowest in the league...Wichita is 4-5-1 when scoring first...Wichita is 4-4-4 in one-goal games....Wichita is 2-0-1 when shots are even...Wichita is 2-0-2 on a Saturday on the road...

Wichita will be back in action next week as the team heads to Arizona to face the Sundogs beginning on Friday, December 20th at 9:05 p.m. The five-game road swing ends with a rematch against the Oilers on Friday, December 27th at 7:35 p.m.
