September 18, 2006 - World Indoor Football League 2 (WIFL 2)
Daytona Beach Thunder News Release
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The site for many of his greatest football achievements will be Daytona Beach Thunder Head Coach Leon Bright's first venue for finding talent to stock his World Indoor Football League team.
The Thunder will hold the first of two tryouts on Saturday, September 30 at Merritt Island High School, where Bright was a high school All American. A second tryout will take place Saturday, October 14 in DeLand at Sperling Sports Complex.
Tryout fees are $50, cash or money order only, and includes a Thunder t-shirt.
Bright is eager to return to his Brevard county roots.
"There's always been some good football talent in Brevard county," Bright said. "It'll be interesting to see what diamonds come out of this rough."
The Thunder enters its second season hoping to improve on a disappointing 6-8 mark in its inaugural year. Daytona Beach's home opener at the Ocean Center is slated for February 11, 2007.
