
Thunder Night At Banner Island Ballpark May 6

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Thunder, a two-time recipient of the ECHL "Award of Excellence," is scheduled to be featured as part of a Stockton Thunder night at Banner Island Ballpark in Stockton, when the Stockton Ports take on the San Jose Giants at 7:05 p.m. on Thursday, May 6.
"The Thunder and Ports are two professional sports teams that our area can be very proud of," said Thunder president Dan Chapman. "Often times throughout the year we collaborate to promote one another and this is yet another example of that. Thunder hockey and Ports baseball have terrific fans and we look forward to them supporting these two fine sports franchises."
As part of the special evening to celebrate the Thunder's playoff run in the Kelly Cup Playoffs and baseball, select Thunder players are scheduled to appear and will throw out the ceremonial first pitch. Special on-field activities between innings will feature the Thunder team, while fans in attendance will get a chance to win free prizes courtesy of the Thunder prize wheel, a fixture at Thunder games, and meet mascot, "Thor. "
Players scheduled to appear are to be announced and will be available to sign autographs at Banner Island Ballpark, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
The Ports, a class 'A' affiliate of the Oakland Athletics and recent champions of the 2008 California League title, have made Banner Island Ballpark their home since 2005, right across the street from the Thunder's home ice, Stockton Arena.
The Thunder is currently in the midst of its deepest playoff run in club history, advancing to the National Conference Finals and facing the Idaho Steelheads in a best-of-seven series. The winner will move onto the Kelly Cup Finals to vie for the league's national championship, facing the American Conference winner (Cincinnati or Reading).

THUNDER ON THE ROAD: PLAYOFF WATCH PARTIES: The Thunder is hosting Kelly Cup Playoff Watch Parties from the "King's Room" of Stockton Arena for all Thunder playoff road games as available. A tradition which started last season, fans can enjoy the game on several television monitors which will carry playoff game coverage through B2 Networks, "the official Broadband Broadcast Provider of the ECHL." Admission to Playoff Watch Parties is $5 for the general public ($3 for full Thunder Season Ticket Holders). Doors to the King's Room, located at the North Entry of Stockton Arena, will open to all fans 30 minutes prior to puck drop. Throughout each game, fans can enjoy discounts on food and beverages.
ALL FANS ASKED TO "GO GOLD" FOR KELLY CUP PLAYOFFS: The Stockton Thunder are asking all fans in attendance for Thunder home Kelly Cup Playoff games at Stockton Arena to "go gold" and wear gold clothing similar to the color in the Thunder uniform scheme. The Thunder will roll out exclusive playoff merchandise, including playoff rally towels, collectible playoff pucks and gold bandanas. Special gold playoff t-shirts with the Conference Final theme are scheduled to be on sale at all home games in the Stockton Arena "Fan Attic" and all in-arena merchandise locations.
The Thunder will square off against the Idaho Steelheads at Stockton Arena for with Game 3, on Wednesday, May 5 at 7:00 p.m. The games can be heard and viewed online exclusively at www.stocktonthunder.com, courtesy of B2 Networks (audio is free of charge).
