RALEIGH, N.C. - Another game, another close loss for the Daytona Beach Thunder.

Despite getting six interceptions from its defensive secondary, Daytona Beach suffered another heartbreaking loss, this one a 30-29 setback to the Raleigh Rebels before 800 at Dorton Arena Thursday night.

It was the Thunder's third straight loss and dropped the record to 5-7. Raleigh improved to 7-5 to stay alive in the American Indoor Football League Southern Conference playoff picture.

Daytona Beach has lost six of its seven games by six points or less.

Sammy Henderson's 10-yard touchdown from David Malino with 19 seconds left put the Rebels ahead. Daytona Beach had just registered its sixth pick of the game, but fumbled it back to Raleigh to set up the final drive.

A Nick Allison interception was waved off due to pass interference on the play before the touchdown.

The Thunder had one last chance to win, but Andy Eminger's 33-yard attempt went wide left.

Eminger had three field goals for the Thunder.

Oscar Davenport completed 17 of 33 for 192 yards, with Robert Bailey and former Bethune-Cookman standout Tarion Hubbard standout each posting seven catches for 83 yards. Hubbard had one touchdown, a 19-yarder in the second quarter.

Marcus Walker had three of the Daytona Beach interceptions, Durell Preston two and Allison one.

The Thunder hosts the AIFL Ghostchasers next Sunday at 7 p.m.
