Daytona Beach Thunder News Release

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - After a successful "name the team" contest, the Daytona Beach Thunder are now inviting fans to help name the dance squad for the Atlantic Indoor Football League expansion franchise.

"We were impressed with the creativity of football fans," said Thunder Vice President Jay C. Burton. "The Thunder is the community's team and this is a continuation of letting our fans get involved with organizing a first-rate football operation."

Entries can be submitted via the team's Web site at http://www.daytonabeachthunder.com.

Five "finalists" will be selected from the voting, which begins today. One lucky fan who submits the winning entry will receive a season ticket.

Thunder ownership is in final negotiations with noted coordinator Kelly Conway to head the dance team operations. Conway has guided the New Smyrna Beach High School Showdolls to ten national championships during her tenure. Further updates will be issued as the situation warrants.

The Daytona Beach Thunder takes to the field for its inaugural season in the Atlantic Indoor Football League beginning in March 2006. Locally owned and operated by Zack McDonald, Kevin McDonald and Jay Burton, the Thunder is committed to providing first-class, family-oriented sports entertainment while serving its community in a professional manner.

For ticket, sponsorship and general information, contact the Thunder front office at (386) 788-2385 or send an e-mail to info@dbthunder.com.
