
Thunder Bounce Back over Rivermen

PEORIA - The Bloomington Thunder used a two-man advantage early in the third period to score the deciding goal in a 2-1 victory over the Peoria Rivermen on Saturday night at Carver Arena.
The Thunder scored just 1:32 into the game when Tyler Noseworthy put home a rebound on a Travis Granbois shot from a Jason Pietrasiak feed.
The Rivermen were given a two-man advantage early in the second period and scored on a wrister from the right circle by Nick Prockow assisted by Joe Schiller and Tyler Amburgey with 15:36 left.
The Thunder answered with a 5-on-3 power play goal of their own for the deciding score with 14:35 showing on the third period clock when Kyle Watson tapped in a rebound at the right post on a Noseworthy shot also assisted by Curtis Megginson. The score was Watson's third game-winning goal of the season.
B.J. O'Brien earned the 23-save win while Kyle Rank took the loss by turning away 26 shots. The Rivermen were 1-for-8 on the power play while the Thunder converted one of their three chances.
The Thunder and Rivermen rematch on Carver Arena ice at 3:15 p.m. Sunday. The Thunder then return to U.S. Cellular Coliseum to host the Fayetteville FireAntz on Thursday and Friday at 7:05 each night.
