
Thunder Announces Promotional Schedule

The McAllen Thunder, the newest team in the new North American Baseball League has announced its promotional schedule for its inaugural 2011 season.
The Thunder, which opens its home campaign on Friday, June 10 against the Edinburg Roadrunners, at Edinburg Stadium, will observe City of McAllen Night. Local city officials and organizations will be recognized on that night.
On Sunday, June 12, it will be the first of three Kids Nights (every Sunday home game) on the calendar, with free admission for youngsters 12 and under, as the Thunder host the Roadrunners in a doubleheader. The first game will begin at 6:05 p.m.
The Thunder will close out its initial home series on Monday, June 13, which will feature Margarita Monday. This crowd pleaser will be a regular event at all Monday home games.
Wednesday, June 15, will be $1 Hot Dog Night, with the Rio Grande Valley White Wings as the opponent. The Thunder schedule will have three $1 Hot Dog Nights this season.
Every Thursday will feature $2-Beers & Soft Drinks with the first such event on June 16. The Thunder will have three-Thirsty Thursdays on the schedule.
Friday, Saturday and Sunday, September 2, 3 and 4 will be Fan Appreciation Weekend with lots of specials and giveaways to the Thunder faithful.
It will be another Kids Night, free admission to 12 and under, on Sunday, Sept. 4, against the Roadrunners.
The regular season will end on Monday September 5, with the Roadrunners, and it's the final Margarita Monday.
