Thunder Announce Red-Out for July 12 Game

Portland Thunder News Release

PORTLAND, Ore. - The Thunder hope the Los Angeles KISS will see red this offseason when they think of how their inaugural season went by the wayside.

The fashion-forward Thunder will have their first "Red-Out" on July 12 as they'll debut a brand-new set of red uniforms for the home audience. Red is not only the natural color for a team representing the Rose City, it's a symbol of power associated with Emmert International, the heavy-haul and rigging services company that Thunder owner Terry Emmert created in 1964 in Clackamas.

"KISS will be traveling with their full entourage, their camera crew for their reality show, and we want the Moda Center rocking," said Emmert. "This town loves beating L. A. - This is a great opportunity for us to do that and literally steal the show. Whoever wins this game basically punches their ticket to the playoffs."

As part of the promotion, red T-shirts saying "KISS my Thunder" will be given away to all season ticket holders. Standard TV and Appliance will provide the first 2,500 fans through the door with red rally towels to wave throughout the game - fans can get them signed by the team afterwards during the postgame autograph session on the field.

Saturday's game will take place at 7 p.m. at the Moda Center. Those who can't make it to the game can catch the broadcast on CSN Northwest or ESPN3, or listen via radio at 750 AM The Game.
