
Three Whalers Selected For Canada/Russia Subway Challenge

The Ontario Hockey League announced that three members of the Plymouth Whalers will represent the OHL in the Canada/Russia SUBWAY® Super Series. Forwards Tyler Seguin and Josh Brittain, along with goaltender Matt Hackett will play in the game in Windsor, Ontario on Monday, November 23.
The 2009 event marks the seventh consecutive year that CHL teams have competed against the Russian National Junior Team in a six game series with two games in QMJHL, OHL, and WHL centers. Last season, the CHL won five of the six games in the series.
The Barrie Colts will host the first game of the Ontario leg of the series on Thursday, November 19, followed by the reigning OHL and Memorial Cup Champions Windsor Spitfires hosting the OHL's second contest on Monday, November 23. The OHL venues will serve as games three and four of the series following the opening two games played in QMJHL host centres, with games five and six wrapping up the series in the WHL.
