Alabama Steeldogs News Release

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Three Birmingham Steeldogs players have taken their game to the next level this off-season, signing contracts with Arena Football League franchises in Colorado, Texas and Georgia.

Defensive specialist Bobby Keyes signed with the Dallas Desperados; fullback/linebacker Terrell Browden signed with the Colorado Crush; and offensive lineman James Clark signed with the Georgia Force.

"I'm excited that these players are getting the opportunity to move up and play at a higher level. The ability to showcase yourself as a solid player is what af2 is all about," said Birmingham Steeldogs Head Coach Ron Selesky. "These are the caliber of athletes that we recruit to play here in Birmingham and I fully expect other Steeldogs players to get chances like this."

Keyes, a standout player at UAB who started all 16 games for the Steeldogs in 2006, was named to the First Team All-af2 last year after recording 66 tackles, eight interceptions and 17 pass breakups. Browden, who played college ball for the University of Southern Mississippi, started 15 games for the Steeldogs last season and finished his rookie campaign with 199 total yards on offense and eight touchdowns. He added 25.5 tackles on defense and one fumble recovery for a touchdown. Clark started in 14 games for the Steeldogs this past year and played college football at the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga.
