
Three Skyhawks Play in Arizona Winter League

Three Skyhawks just finished up play in the Arizona Winter League over the past weekend. The Arizona Winter League is a 20 game short season league that attracts the finest talent inIndependent Baseball. Skyhawks Pitching Coach Brooks Carey coached the West Canada Miners club in the AWL which featured three Skyhawks on the roster.
LHP Roger Lincoln, the one-time Cleveland Indians and Boston Red Sox prospect, regained his form and pitched superbly in winter ball, posting a 3-0 record with a 1.37 E.R.A. in 26.1 innings pitched. He appeared in 6 games, starting 4, and pitching 2 complete games. Over his 26 plus innings, Lincoln struck out 37 batters while only allowing 4 earned runs, 5 walks, and 17 hits. Roger also held opposing batters to a .183 Batting Average Against.
Outfield and Sparta native Ryan Crespi had an impressive February as well, hitting .279 in 61 at-bats with 17 hits, 8 runs scored, 4 doubles and 1 triple. Crespi finished second on the squad in RBI's with 10 and lead the team in home runs with 3. Crespi also slugged .525 and had an On-Base Percentage of .353.
One of the new Skyhawks, Infielder Jeremy Hunt was kept to only 35 plate appearances this February due to a couple minor injuries. He drove in 4 basemen, scored 5 runs, and drew 10 walks to finish with the teams second highest On-Base percentage at .417.
