EVANSVILLE, IN: The Evansville BlueCats have added three Tri-State area athletes to their 2006 roster. The February tryout yielded three more players for the 2006 roster, Ray Everhart from Newburgh, Shadrach Jackson from Henderson, and Marquis Tolliver from Evansville. These players attended the February tryout back on February 12th and are now officially members of the Evansville BlueCats family.

The tryouts were successful according to Coach John Hart. Coach Hart said, "We're really excited about these guys and what they could possibly contribute to our team. They're outstanding athletes who really shined at our tryout and they're local guys who I hope the fans are excited about watching."

Ray Everhart was superstar running back at Castle High School and could be the fastest player in Evansville BlueCats history. He was timed running the 40-yard dash in 4.X seconds using a laser timing system at the February tryout.

During the fall of 2002, Everhart led the Castle Knights to an undefeated regular season and SIAC championship. He finished the season ranked fourth in the state with 197.3 yards per game, and seventh in total rushing with 1,973 yards. He scored 26 rushing touchdowns for Castle, which finished the season 9-1. As a senior, he served as team captain and played in Indiana's North-South all-star game. He attended Western Kentucky University and played football for the Hilltoppers in 2004 as an athlete, using his speed playing several positions on both offense and defense.

During the season opener in 2002 he set the Castle High School rushing record in the 40-33 win over Owensboro (KY) Apollo with 26 rushes for 300 yards. He also tied the school record with 4 touchdowns in the game.

Another speedy player joins the BlueCats in Henderson native, Shadrach Jackson. Jackson attended Henderson County High School in Henderson, KY. He started at running back and strong safety as a sophomore, and was injured during the 4th game of the year as a high school junior. He recovered to start both ways again as a senior, scoring 29 touchdowns on offense and grabbing 4 interceptions and recording over 100 tackles on defense. He also returned punts and kicks and made the second team All-State. He also ran track.

He played football and track during his freshman year at Murray State before focusing on football. He started at strong safety for three years and saw occasional time at running back. He transferred to Midwestern State for the 2001 season where he earned all-conference honors at strong safety.

He's had previous professional workouts with the Saskatchewan Rough Riders, the Indiana Firebirds, and the Colorado Crush, and spent part of last season on the BlueCats practice squad. Jackson earned his bachelor's degree in Applied Arts and Science from Midwestern State in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Rounding out the signings from the February tryouts is Evansville native, Marquis Tolliver. Tolliver joins the team after stand out career at the University of Indianapolis where he finished his career second on the school's all-time rushing list with 3,079 yards. He was the college teammate of BlueCats defensive back Tarron Acuff. Tolliver also played basketball for the Greyhounds.

Tolliver attended Harrison High School in Evansville where he played football and basketball for the Warriors. He scored 31 touchdowns as a senior in the 1997 season on a team that averaged over 38 points per game. He was the catalyst on the state's 12th best offense (all classes) and helped Harrison outscore their opponents by more than 27 points per game. Harrison High School won their 5A sectional both in his junior and senior season.
