NFL Bound: Last seasons UIF league Most Valuable Player has made it to the highest level of football that a player can reach, the National Football League. Fred Jackson led the Sioux City Bandits to a North Division championship and a title game appearance while leading the league in several categories including touchdowns, rushing yards and all-purpose yards. Now Jackson will take his talent to Buffalo New York and represent the red, white and blue of the Bills. Congratulations Freddy from the UIF and all your fans!

Kick-off March 24: United Indoor Football is finally here for another high impact, fast action season of football. Last seasons United Bowl champions, the Sioux Falls Storm, will be one of four teams to step on the turf on March 24 as they travel to meet the Omaha Beef. The Lexington Horsemen will square off with the Greyhounds in Wheeling, VA also on that Friday afternoon. Both teams have a scheduled kick-off time of 7:30 pm. The rest of the league will start their season the next night with Sioux City traveling to Ft. Wayne, the Raptors meet up with the BlueCats in Evansville and the Peoria Rough Riders will travel to Bloomington to meet the Extreme in the first ever indoor game in the brand new U.S. Cellular Colesium.

New Faces on the Sidelines: The UIF has been blessed with having some of the most experienced and most successful coaches in the indoor game. The 2006 season ushers in a new era of up and coming leaders as well as welcoming back three from the 2005 season. Ted Schmitz leads the way for the Bloomington Extreme while just down the road, last seasons assistant coach, Chuck Goodwin will now be the head of the Peoria Rough Riders. Two other former assistants turned head coach also join Goodwin and Schmitz, as John Hart takes over for the BlueCats and Mike Zuckerman for the Lexington Horsemen. Dan Pifer was named the Head Coach for Ft. Wayne, Rik Richards for the Rock River Raptors and Mike Blackburn takes over in Ohio Valley for the Greyhounds. Returning for the 2006 season will be Robert Fuller for the Omaha Beef, Jose Jefferson in Sioux City and last seasons 2006 UIF National Championship coach, Kurtiss Riggs returns for another title run for the Sioux Falls Storm.

Extreme Football hits Bloomington/Normal: Finally, the Bloomington/Normal community will have the luxury of seeing live indoor football in their brand new, state-of-the-art U.S. Cellular Coliseum. The coliseum includes luxury suites, restaurant/sports bar and a year-round ice skating facility. The Bloomington Extreme becomes the first expansion team to be inducted into the UIF family. Check out more on the Extreme at their homepage.

2006 UIF Yearbook: United Indoor Football has been hard at work compiling what we hope becomes an annual thing, the first ever UIF Yearbook. The book will feature stories from last season, the United Bowl, players that have moved up into the NFL, AFL and CFL along with a four page spread of each team in the league. The book will be sold at all of the UIF's team retail stands for the duration of the 2006 season.

Rump Roasters: The Omaha Beef would like to congratulate their 2006 Rump Roasters squad and thank all the men who came to participate and try-out. The Rump Roasters have been a part of the Beef game since their inaugural season in 2000. Ten men join this years team with some being long time veterans and a few rookies thrown in the mix. The Roasters are modeled after the Chicago Bulls Matadors. Check out more on the Rump Roasters at the Beef's official team site.
