Evansville BlueCats News Release
EVANSVILLE, IN: The Evansville BlueCats have added three players to the roster this week in preparation for this Saturday's home game against the Lexington Horsemen. The players include quarterback Brent Dearmon, offensive lineman Anthony Bullock, and kicker Tim Wright.
Dearmon comes to Evansville after starting at quarterback for the past four seasons at Bethel College in McKenzie, Tennessee. With Dearmon as the signal caller, Bethel College improved their overall record each season from (2-9) in 2003 all the way to winning back to back conference championships in 2005 and 2006 with a (10-3) overall record and a perfect (6-0) conference record. Last fall, #8 ranked Bethel College lost to #1 ranked St. Francis in the NAIA playoffs. Dearmon owns nearly all of the career passing records at Bethel College with 6,854 passing yards and 72 touchdowns during his career. He earned first team all-conference honors at quarterback last fall. Originally from Mobile, Alabama, he led his Vigor High School team to an (11-1) overall record and the #2 ranking in the state of Alabama as a senior.
Anthony Bullock is a massive offensive lineman (6' 6" 340 lbs.) who recently graduated from Indiana State University. He spent the 2005 and 2006 seasons with the Sycamores after transferring from Fergus Falls Community College where he earned all-conference honors as a sophomore. Anthony was scouted and placed through the Indoor Football Scouting Bureau.
Tim Wright joins the BlueCats after playing for the past two seasons at Murray State. His strong leg led to him being used primarily as the punter and on kickoffs for the Murray State Racers. During his two seasons at Murray State, he placed 24 punts inside the 20 and had a career long punt of 69 yards. Before arriving at Murray State he spent two seasons at the University of Hawaii before playing one season at Southwest Mississippi Community College.
