Cleveland Force News Release

As week nine came to a close, the United Soccer League announced the Team of the Week honors and three Force members topped the list. In the A-League, Atlanta midfielder John Ball and Montreal forward Joel Bailey graced the list while Pittsburgh Riverhounds midfielder Gary DePalma, took the Pro Soccer League honor.

Ball recently scored a game-winning goal against the Toronto Lynx in a close 1-0 game. Bailey earned his honors by tallying two goals in a 3-0 win against the Vancouver Whitecaps. Meanwhile, DePalma scored a game-winning goal in 2-1 overtime win at Cleveland last week.

The Team of the Week honors is the first of the season for Ball. John has netted two goals and two assists this season. Along with Ball's help, Atlanta has risen to 7-3 on the season and is currently third in the A-League Eastern Conference, just four points behind the first-place Montreal Impact.

Scoring two goals for the Montreal Impact, Bailey made his debut appearance on the Team of the Week. Joel has now recorded four goals on the season and is currently second on the Impact in goals scored. Montreal remains undefeated at 8-0 and in first place in the Eastern Conference.

Meanwhile, during a nail-biter in Cleveland last week, Gary DePalma of the Pittsburgh Riverhounds made his first goals of the season to improve the Riverhounds' record to 7-2 on the season. Pittsburgh lingers in first place in the Pro Soccer League and the Atlantic Division.

In upcoming action, Ball and the Silverbacks will look for win eight as they take on the Puerto Rico Islanders on Saturday, June 19. On Sunday, June 20, Bailey and the Impact will look to defend their undefeated season when they face off with the Toronto Lynx at 4:00 pm. Later that day, DePalma and Pittsburgh will take the field against the Long Island Rough Riders at 6pm.
