Boise, Idaho (Feb. 17, 2003)— The Continental Basketball Association announced today that Sioux Falls Skyforce forward Victor Thomas was named National Conference Player of the Week, while Rockford Lightning guard Teddy Dupay earned American Conference honors, for the period of February 9-15.

Thomas averaged 21.0 ppg, 8.0 rpg, and 2.5 spg in leading the Skyforce to two victories last week (2-0). The 6-8, 215 lb. LaSalle ('01) product shot .650 (13-20) from the floor and .800 (16-20) from the charity stripe. Thomas, who spent the first 21 of his 36 games this season with the Dakota Wizards, is averaging a team-high 20.5 ppg since joining the Skyforce.

Since signing with the Lightning on February 3, Dupay has had an immediate impact, averaging 16.6 ppg and 7.5 apg in eight games. Last week he led the Lightning to a 3-1 record, posting 18.3 ppg (including a perfect 13-13 from the foul line), 9.0 apg, and 5.0 rpg. The 5-11, 180 lb. Florida ('01) standout tallied the third triple-double of the CBA season (17 points, 15 assists, 10 rebounds) in a 123-119 (5-2) loss to the Grand Rapids Hoops on February 14. The following day he led the Lightning to a 149-125 (6-1) victory over the Idaho Stampede behind his 41 points, 8 assists, 5 rebounds, and 3 steals.

Other players receiving consideration for National Conference honors were Yakima guard Darrick Martin (20.5 ppg, 7.5 apg), Dakota forward Andy Panko (27.3 ppg, 6.0 rpg), and Idaho guard Chris Garner (20.0 ppg, 8.0 apg). The three other players receiving consideration in the American Conference were Gary guard Silas Mills (23.0 ppg, 11.0 rpg), Grand Rapids guard Immanuel McElroy (23.0 ppg, 4.5 apg), and Great Lakes guard Tyson Wheeler (19.8 ppg, 8.5 apg).
