Cleveland Force News Release
Z Marks the Spot:
Forward Zoran Karic is once again showing why he is the all-time leader in assists with 839. Karic in his last two games has recorded eight assists, including a six assist performance in the last outing. Zoran, who triggers most restart opportunities, picked up two of his six assists on restarts on Saturday night. The six assists were two shy of Karic's record of eight assists in a game that he recorded versus the Canton Invaders on February 4, 1995. In addition, Zoran has netted three goals in the past two games.
DYNAMIC PERFORMANCE:
The Dynamic Duo has returned to the form that defenses have feared for the past 10 years. In the last two games, Hector Marinaro and Zoran Karic have combined for a total of 18 points. Hector has tallied five goals, including his first hat trick of the season on Saturday night as well as adding two assists for seven points. Zoran has been responsible for three goals and eight assists, including a MISL season-high six assists on Saturday night.
FORCE PULLS OFF TRADE:
The Force acquired the rights to forward Antonio Sutton from the Monterrey Fury for the rights to midfielder Marco Coria. The trade is subject to Sutton reporting to Cleveland and Antonio is expected to be with the Force on Monday. Sutton, a native of Fayetteville, North Carolina, has played in 10 games this season for the Fury and has recorded four goals and added one assist for a total of five points. In addition, Antonio has tallied 11 blocks. Sutton was selected by the Fury with their second pick in the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) Expansion draft this past summer from the Dallas Sidekicks. In his first full season in the MISL, Antonio appeared in 34 games and notched 22 goals and added five assists for a total of 50 points for the Sidekicks. Prior to joining Dallas, Sutton played five seasons with the Sacramento Knights in the World Indoor Soccer League (WISL) and recorded 66 goals and added 19 assists for a total of 85 points.
FRISBEE TRIPLE PLAY:
The Force has put a new twist on their current halftime Frisbee contest. Fans, who purchase Frisbees at Force Frisbee Toss table located near section 107 of the outer concourse, will now have a chance to win $1,000. Frisbees MUST BE PURCHASED at three home games during a month span to be eligible to win the drawing. The more Frisbees purchased will increase your chance of winning the prize.
