Everett Silvertips News Release
Busy Bears Back at it
Two home games highlight another three-in-three weekend for the Silvertips, who open the set tomorrow night at 7:35 pm against Spokane at Comcast Arena. As the 'Tips and Chiefs face-off for the third time in six days, the first 3,000 fans through the arena doors will receive a free poster of the Silvertips three team Captains (Ryan Murray, Josh Birkholz & Brennan Yadlowski) courtesy of the Dwayne Lane's Family of Auto Centers. Everett will then visit Kamloops, BC for a Saturday game against the Blazers before returning home to host the Kelowna Rockets in their second consecutive Sunday afternoon game. Sunday's family-friendly 5:05 pm start makes it a great chance to bring the kids out for an evening of hockey in downtown Everett.
NHL Eyes on Everett
Two Silvertips defensemen were among the players ranked yesterday when the NHL's Central Scouting Bureau released its mid-term rankings of draft-eligible players for 2012. Team Captain Ryan Murray was listed first among defensemen and ranked third overall among North American skaters, with only forwards Nail Yakupov (Sarnia - OHL) and Mikhail Grigorenko (Quebec - QMJHL) being rated higher. Murray recently returned to the Silvertips after helping Team Canada win a Bronze Medal at the 2012 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championships. Second-year Silvertip Nick Walters also made the list at #68 out of more than 200 draft-eligible players ranked by NHL Central Scouting. A total of five WHL defensemen were among the top ten-ranked players on the list.
Get 'em While You Can
