
Third Straight Win, Braves over Suns 5-2

Rome, GA - The Rome Braves defeated the Hagerstown Suns 5-2 Saturday night at State Mutual Stadium in front of 2,041 cold, wet, but happy fans. It was Rome's third straight victory.
The Braves took a 2-0 lead in the fourth inning thanks to a run scoring double by Drew Lugbauer and a sacrifice fly RBI by Kurt Hoekstra. Three more runs crossed the plate in the fifth highlighted by Derian Cruz's two run triple and Jefry Ramos' single to plate another run. The Suns scored twice in the ninth on Branden Boggetto's RBI double and a groundout by Aldrem Corredor to add another run for the 5-2 final.
The Rome pitching staff had another stellar night allowing just two runs and three hits. Starter Bruce Zimmermann (1-0) gets the win going five shutout innings while striking out four. Jackson Tetreault (0- 1) is hit with the loss for the Sun's.
