The Wachusett Dirt Dawgs (13-21) and the Pittsfield Suns (13-20) both had scoring chances on Friday, but it was the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs that were able to capitalize on them as they pulled out a 3-2 win at Doyle Field.
Austin Young put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs. He homered in the sixth inning and doubled in the seventh inning.
Despite the loss, the Pittsfield Suns' Austin Hansen dominated the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs' batters, giving up three runs and striking out nine.
PJ Browne recorded his second win of the year for the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs. Browne struck out one, walked none and gave up no hits.
Garrett Hudson (0-2) took the loss for the Pittsfield Suns. He lasted just zero innings, walked none, struck out none, and allowed no runs.
The Wachusett Dirt Dawgs were sparked by Don Walsh and Young, who teamed up for three hits and three RBIs.
