
The "Storm Chasers" will Travel to Lexington for Round Two of the 2005 UIF Play-offs

The Sioux Falls Storm of United Indoor Football (UIF) is pleased to announce that on Friday, August 5, the "Storm Chasers" will be traveling to Lexington, KY to watch their Sioux Falls Storm take on the Lexington Horsemen in the Semi-Finals of the first ever UIF play-offs. Cost of the trip has been cut to the lowest possible price, $200.00. Trip package will include the bus ride to Lexington, one night stay in a hotel on Saturday night, game ticket, play-off T-shirt, stadium horns, beads, pop, water, and food on the bus ride. The bus will be leaving Sioux Falls at 6:00 PM on Friday afternoon. The trip will be just less than 1,000 miles and should take approximately 15 hours, and arriving in Lexington around 10:00 AM ET on Saturday. Upon arrival in Lexington, fans will be checked into their respective hotel rooms and then given the afternoon to see the sights of Lexington, KY. Game time will be at 7:30 PM ET (6:30 PM Central). On Sunday, the bus will depart from Lexington and should arrive in Sioux Falls late that night. Join the Storm on the road as they make a run at the first ever UIF Championship. The Sioux Falls Storm traveled to Omaha, NE this past weekend and met the Omaha Beef in the first round of the UIF 2005 play-offs. RB, Marques Smith, ran away with the show again as he rushed for four touchdowns from 15 carries. Omaha cut the Storm's lead to a mere 4 points in beginning of the second half, but then Smith put in back-to-back TD's that sealed the victory for the Storm. Sioux Falls ended the game with the last score by putting a field goal up from kicker, Adam Hicks, and ended the game with a 51-41 victory. Terrance Bryant threw for 156 yards from 13 of 19 passing and one touchdown. Leading the Storm's Thunderous Defense was veteran linebacker, Mark Blackburn. Blackburn had six solo tackles, five assisted, and one fumble recovery that he returned 11 yards for the touchdown early in the second quarter. Sioux Falls will now take on the Lexington Horsemen in the semi-finals of the UIF play-ffs this Saturday, August 6, in Lexington, KY. The Storm and the Horsemen have split the season series. The Storm beat Lexington in the Sioux Falls Arena on April 9, 52-24. The Horsemen then returned the favor in Lexington, by beating the Storm 61-43. Last week, the Horsemen beat the Evansville Bluecats in the 1st round of the UIF play-offs, 55-50. The other semi-final game will take place in Sioux City, IA this weekend as the Sioux City Bandits host the Tennessee Valley Raptors in the Tyson's Event Center.
