W - Josh Oneill 1-0 (SUNY Stony Brook): 5.0 IP, 3 H, 0 ER (2 R), 2 BB, 5 K

Dodd Memorial Stadium in Mystic, Connecticut - The Mystic Schooners (3-2) downed the Ocean State Waves (3-4) 4-2 after going down early.
With two men on and two outs, Mystic reliever Reid Easterly (Yale) was in a tough situation. Ocean State batter Alex Ramirez (Rhode Island) worked the count to 3-2 but ultimately left both of his teammates stranded. A fly out to Schooners second baseman Ray Sass (Brown) ended the game and helped Mystic climb over .500.
The Waves scored first to take the lead in the second inning after Chase Meggers (Oregon) and Blaine Lidsky (Stonehill College) touched home. The two runs would serve as Ocean State's only source of offense as it was mostly held silent the rest of the afternoon.
The Schooners got one back in the bottom of the third after an Ocean State error let Tristan McAlister (Mt St Mary's) score. Mystic then took the lead in the fourth inning on RBI singles from Jimmy Chatfield (Yale) and McAlister. The home team added its fourth and final run two innings later when another Ocean State error let Stanton Leuthner (Stony Brook) scamper home.
Schooners centerfielder Tristan McAlister had two hits on the day, bringing his season average to .348. Teammate Tucker Flint (North Carolina Greensboro) also had two hits, upping his average on the year to .400.
Mystic has an early game today in North Shore (1-5) at 11:05 a.m. Ocean State plays a double header against undefeated Vermont (6-0) today at 4:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

W - Randall Alejo (Saint Rose): 6.0 IP, 5 H, 1 ER (1 R), 0 BB, 5 K

Maxfield Sports Complex, Hartford, Vermont - Despite outhitting the Nighthawks nine hits to three, the Sanford Mainers (1-6) were defeated by the Upper Valley Nighthawks (3-3) 6-3 at Maxfield Sports Complex on Tuesday night.
The Sandford Mainers' bats were alive in the top of the second inning with Adam Dapkewicz (Georgetown) smashing a double to center field and scoring later in the inning off a single by Grant Knipp (Campbell). Unfortunately for the Mainers, the Nighthawks defense would turn a double play to end the inning. In the bottom of the third, Upper Valley would take the lead with an RBI single coming from William Sullivan (Troy) while Jonathan Hogart (Louisiana Tech) scored on a double-steal.
Leading 2-1 heading into the bottom of the fifth, the Nighthawks would extend their lead with a big three run inning. Stringing together two hits while taking advantage to two Sanford errors, Upper Valley's Max Grant (Canisius) drove in a run on a single to center field, later stealing second and scoring on an error by the Mainers first baseman. Up 6-3 going into the bottom of the ninth, closer Nordmann took the mound and threw a 1-2-3 inning, including one strikeout, to end the game and earn the save.
Both teams take the field tonight with the Upper Valley Nighthawks hosting the Martha's Vineyard Sharks at 4:30 p.m. while the Mainers host the Gulls at 6:30 p.m.
Bristol Blues 5 - Valley Blue Sox 2
W - Mason Ulsh 1-0 (Quinnipiac): 4.0 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 1 K
L - Brian Strange 1-1 (Mineral Area): 2.0 IP, 3 H, 2 ER, 3 BB, 0 K
S - Peter Phillips (Southern Connecticut): 2.0 IP, 0 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 1 K
Muzzy Field in Bristol, CT - The Bristol Blues (5-2) continued their success with a 5-2 victory over the Valley Blue Sox (2-5).
Bristol got it going early when AJ Gaich (Yale) led the first inning off with a double. After a groundout to first and then a wild pitch, he came around to score. In the next inning, the Blues put runners on first and second base for Carson Swank (Yale) , who hit an RBI single to increase their lead. The next batter was Gaich, who also drove in a run via the single.
Bristol's pitching staff was able to keep the Blue Sox at bay the whole game. Mason Ulsh went four innings and did not allow an earned run, then John Farley (Manhattan) provided three quality innings with just one run allowed. Getting the save was Peter Phillips, who went two perfect innings.
Valley remained a threat throughout the game largely because of their relievers Graeme Carroll (Bucknell) and Andrew Sears (Rhode Island College) , who each threw two scoreless innings to keep Bristol's run total at three.
While the Blues' offense was temporarily shut down, the Blue Sox started to score some runs. In the top of the third inning, Lucas DiLuca (Eastern Illinois) drove Steven Luttazi ( in on an RBI single to make it 3-1. Then, in the seventh inning, Luttazi (UMass Amherst) was driven in on an RBI single from Michael Casaleggio (Palm Beach Atlantic) .
The Blues added insurance runs in the eighth inning off a two-out rally. Swank was hit by a pitch, then Gaich hit a single to move him to second base. Then, Griffin Armone (Elon) ripped a ball through the hole between the second baseman and shortstop for an RBI single. During the next at-bat, Armone got himself in a pickle, and during that, Gaich came in to score.
The Blues' next matchup will be at Muzzy Field once again against the Danbury Westerners today at 6:30 p.m. The Blue Sox will be staying on the road today for a game against the Winnipesaukee Muskrats at 6 p.m.
Danbury Westerners 8 - Keene Swamp Bats 5
W - Kyle Roche 1-0 (Franklin & Marshall): 6 IP, 6 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 6 K
L - Michael Ross 0-1 (Samford): 3 IP, 8 H, 7 ER, 1 BB, 4 K
Rogers Park in Danbury, Conn - The Danbury Westerners (5-2) keep their streak alive with an 8-5 win over the Keene Swamp Bats (4-2).
The Westerners got on the board early when center fielder Jermaine White (St Johns) started with a walk, stole second, and ran home with a single by catcher Alex Stone (Duke) for a 1-0 lead. The momentum would only carry from there as Roche held the Swamp bats to just 2 hits in the next inning, leading to Danbury punching in another five runs. Designated hitter Hank Thomas (Ohio State) ran in his sixth of the season, which leads the team, along with first baseman Colby Canales (Pacific), right fielder Billy Gerlott (Penn State), third baseman Sam Mongelli (Sacred Heart), and second baseman Jackson Taylor (Indiana State) accounting for one each for a 6-0 lead.
Keene followed up with a run of their own with second baseman Dan Corvino (Central Connecticut State) bringing home third baseman Tony Santa Maria (Rutgers New Brunswick) after an error and passed ball but the Westerners answered back right away with one of their own by Billy Gerlott for his second score of the night to get a score of 7-1. After Keene's right fielder Carter Mathison (Indiana) and Danbury's left fielder Henry Strmecki (Dayton) traded runs in the fourth and fifth innings, Roche and pitcher Ethan Bradford (Nebraska Lincoln) held the Swamp Bats to no runs or hits in the fifth through eighth innings to keep their 8-2 lead. Swamp Bats pitcher William Flanagan (Radford) would create a spark when he halted the Danbury offense to just one hit and no runs from the sixth inning leading up to the ninth.
From there, Keene would begin their comeback attempt with a barrage of three runs by Santa Maria, pinch hitter James Broderick (Wake Forest), and catcher Colin Wetterau (St Johns). They were then cut short when Westerner's pitcher Logan Tabeling struck out a batter for the final out to end the game 8-5.
The Westerners head on the road to face the Bristol Blues (5-2) for a West Divisional matchup to fight for the top spot at 6:30pm as the Swamp Bats host the North Adams Steeplecats (1-7) at 6:30pm.

Joe Wolfe Field in North Adams, Mass. - The North Adams SteepleCats (1-7) got their first win of the season with a quality team victory over the North Shore Navigators (1-5)
North Adams did not hesitate to put the pressure on early in the game. Hunter Pasqualani (Central Connecticut) led the first inning off with a single, then Alex Lane (Bryant) followed that up with a double to put men on second and third base. Then, Ryan Galanie (Wofford) drove them both in on a single. The SteepleCats added to the lead in the next inning when Pasqualani hit an RBI single.
The Navigators crept up in the fourth inning when Max Viera (Northeastern) hit an RBI infield single. They also scored in the sixth inning on an error. The team in general continuously packed the bases, as they got nine hits and reached via walk four times.
However, the SteepleCats' pitching came through when it mattered most. The team's 15 strikeouts helped get the SteepleCats out of jams and leave 15 men on base for the Navigators.
North Adams added insurance in the eighth inning, scoring two runs on a hit-by-pitch with the bases loaded and a wild pitch. Then, Will Hearn went out for his second inning of work to earn the save.
The SteepleCats will look to win their second game of the year today on the road against the Keene Swamp Bats at 6:30 p.m. The Navigators' next game takes place today at 11:05 a.m. at home against the Mystic Schooners.
Newport Gulls 17 - Martha's Vineyard Sharks 1
W - Jake Garland 1-0 (Miami): 5 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 4 K
L - Noah Johnson 0-1 (Virginia Tech): 2.1 IP, 8 H, 5 ER, 2 BB, 0 K
Vineyard Baseball Park in Oak Bluffs, Mass. - In an inter-divisional matchup, the Newport Gulls (5-1) stay atop the Coastal Division after crushing Martha's Vineyard Sharks (3-3) in a 17-1 victory.
The Gulls got away from the Sharks immediately as they combined 11 runs in the first four innings. Highlighting the double-digit effort was third baseman Slate Alford (Mississippi State) as he totaled three runs himself along with having 3 hits to 3 at bats where he hit a double and two homers. The Sharks got the ball rolling in the fifth inning when pitcher James Sashin (San Diego) held off the Gulls to just one hit which led to the first run of the night for the Sharks by left fielder Luke Masiuk (Northeastern) following a walk, wild pitch and double by center fielder Matt Woods (Bryant). The momentum was stopped right away as the Gulls continued their offensive explosion with another six runs to close out the game 17-1.
Along with Alford scoring a total of four times in the game and three RBI, catcher Jacob Hurley (Brown) put on a performance by leading the team in RBIs with four. The Gulls' pitchers, Garland, Seamus Barrett (Louisville), and Logan Mcguire (Georgia Tech), tag-teamed for 11 strikeouts and only allowed eight hits to help secure the major win.
The Gulls will carry their momentum on the road for a matchup against the Sanford Mainers (1-6) at 6:30pm as the Sharks look to get back on track with another home game as they host the Upper Valley Nighthawks (3-3) at 4:30pm.
