Miami FC News Release

MIAMI (October 19, 2017)  - The Miami FC's road trip culiminates in Canada, where the Orange and Blue takes on FC Edmonton in its final away match of the season. The match is scheduled for Saturday, October 28 and kickoff is set for 9:00 p.m. ET.

One Sided Affairs

Miami and Edmonton have only faced off five times through nearly two full seasons, and Miami has had Edmonton's number in each match.

The Orange and Blue has won all five encounters, with three coming at home and two on the road.

To make matters worse for the Eddies, they haven't been able to score a goal in any of the five matches, getting outscored 7-0 in the process.

Considering Miami's goal differential this season stands at +30 and Edmonton's is -12, history should repeat itself in this one.

Best Everything

Miami clinched the No. 1 overall seed in the playoffs and sports the top record and goal differential in the league for a reason.

The Orange and Blue possesses the NASL's best offense with 57 goals scored and the best defense with just 27 goals conceded. Both are league best marks by wide margins.

Miami has completed the most passes at the highest percentage and has created the most scoring chances in the league.

This has truly been an outstanding season for Miami, and they'll look to finish the job over the last two matches against Edmonton.

Road Warriors

This match will be Miami's final road match of what has been a very successful campaign away from home.

Miami's 8-4-3 record at Riccardo Silva Stadium is actually the best home record in the league, but their away record is unmatchable.

The Orange and Blue has won 11 matches, drawn two and lost just two in 15 away matches.

Miami thrives in hostile situations, and their away record is proof of that.

Players to Watch

Stéfano Pinho 's immaculate 2017 hasn't slowed down at any point in the season.

Pinho scored once again in Miami's 2-2 draw on Wednesday, and that's after putting two past Indy Eleven on Saturday.

The Brazilian is now up to 16 goals on the season, a mark that is first in the league by a whopping five goals.

Blake Smith  got on the score sheet for the first time this season on Wednesday, and deservedly so.

The midfielder turned left back has handled his position change with ease and has been a key contributor to Miami's success.

Smith has dished out five assists, tied for the second-best mark in the league, and has created 18 scoring chances.

Looking Ahead

The Miami FC flies back home to play FC Edmonton again, this time at Riccard Silva Stadium on Saturday, October 28 in the regular season finale. The Orange and Blue then gets ready to host their first playoff opponent in the NASL Semifinal on Sunday, November 5.
