2004 SCHEDULE RELEASED... Earlier this week the af2 office released the 2004 schedule. The Fire will kick-off the 2004 af2 regular season on April 10 in Freedom Hall against Hawaii. The Fire will make a return to Hawaii on July 17. The Macon Knights, who lost to Tulsa in the 2003 ArenaCup championship, will visit Freedom Hall on April 16. Other highlights of the 2004 schedule include home and home series with division rivals Quad City, Peoria and Green Bay. The Fire's 2004 schedule is can be seen on the next page. Second Open Try-out This Weekend... The Fire will hold their second open try-out for the 2004 season this Sunday February 8 at Old Cardinal Stadium. Registration will begin at 10 A.M. and the try-out will start at 11. The cost is $40 and each participant will receive a Louisville Fire work out t-shirt and a ticket to opening night. Participants should wear work out clothes and turf shoes are optional. The try-out will last approximately two hours.
THE COUNTDOWN IS ON... The AFL season kicks-off tonight, with the San Jose Sabercats visiting the Detroit Fury. The AFL on NBC will begin Sunday at 3:00 p.m. with the Orlando Predators taking on the Tampa Bay Storm on WAVE-3. To see the full 2004 AFL schedule visit www.arenafootball.com.

FIRE PLAYERS IN THE AFL... Arkee and Demont have both been assigned to practice squads. Arkee is on the Georgia Force practice squad and Demont is on the Grand Rapids Rampage practice squad.
FIRE ASSIGNED TWO MORE PLAYERS... James Dawson has been assigned to the Fire for the 2004 season as a FB/LB. In 2003 Dawson rushed for 70 yards on 20 carriers and scored 5 touchdowns on offense. On defense Dawson had 19 total tackles and a sack. The second player is Brandon Dyson a 6'3" 295 OL/DL from Utah State. Brandon was with the Baltimore Ravens during the 1998 NFL season and went to camp with the Ravens in 1999. In the spring of 1999 Dyson was with Scotland in NFL Europe. Dyson also spent three season in Canada, one with Toronto and two with Winnipeg. Brandon finished the 2003 AFL season with the L.A. Avengers. The updated 2004 rosters is listed below.
CONGRATULATIONS... To Fire season ticket holder Len Spalding for winning this month's prize a Will Wolford, game MVP ball. The ball has one panel painted with the logos of the teams playing from the game along with Will's name, the date of the game and Will's autograph.
