The FC Dallas Foundation, Coca-Cola, CoServ, Gallagher and UMB Bank Unveil Mini-Pitch at Frisco's Shawnee Trail Elementary School

FRISCO, Texas - The FC Dallas Foundation, Coca-Cola, CoServ, Gallagher and UMB Bank unveiled a new mini-pitch at Shawnee Trail Elementary School this afternoon. The pitch is part of the Foundation's commitment to promote a healthy, active lifestyle for underserved youth by building safe places for them to play soccer.
"The FC Dallas Foundation's mission is to support programs that promote education, health and wellness to empower youth and communities here in North Texas," FC Dallas Foundation Director Brooke Leverette said. "Being able to provide safe and inclusive access to soccer is beyond important to FC Dallas and the FC Dallas Foundation. We are so proud to donate this mini-pitch for the students of Shawnee Trail Elementary School and the surrounding community to use."
This is the 11th mini-pitch constructed by the FC Dallas Foundation and demonstrates the foundation's commitment to promoting a healthy, active lifestyle for youth and communities in North Texas by building safe places for them to play soccer. Through the FC Dallas Foundation's Field Development program, these mini-pitches have been completed throughout the Dallas, Denton and Collin Counties.
"Just to be able to be a part of this partnership really means a lot to us," Principal of Shawnee Trail Elementary School Dr. Valerie Bearden said. "I am excited to be able to see our students have this opportunity to experience this level of equipment and just be able to kick around, enjoy themselves and have fun."
With over 20 years of serving students in Frisco, the mission of Shawnee Trail Elementary School is to create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment, to inspire ALL students to become passionate, lifelong learners and to make meaningful and enjoyable connections as we educate the whole child academically, emotionally, and socially.
