Port Huron, MI â The Port Huron Beacons of the United Hockey League (UHL) announce the signing of defensemen Jason Simon.
Simon comes to Port Huron from playing with of the Anchorage Aces of the West Coast Hockey League (WCHL) and the Lasalle Rapides of the Quebec Senior Professional Hockey League (QSPHL). During the 2001 -2002 season Simon had 4 goals, 7 assists in 20 games with a total of 101 penalty minutes. Simon's ability to score while on the ice less then most players will give the Beacons the advantage right from the start of the season.
"Establishing a physical player that can play will make this club even stronger this season," Head Coach Brad Jones stated.
Beacons will host Kalamazoo Wings this Friday October 11, 2002 at 7:05 PM. Season and individual game tickets are still available by contacting the Beacons office at (810) 989-9701.
